Self-managed EVUP
Self-managed Urban Pruining Valorization Station

What is a Self-Managed EVUP?
A Self-Managed Urban Pruning Valorization Station (EVUP) is a facility that occupies a space between half a hectare and 2.5 hectares, dedicated to the collection of green waste from pruning, gardening, and forestry materials. Its main functions are to facilitate the deposit of these materials and transform them into biomass (wood chips), compost, and other raw materials that will be used in the same municipalities that provide the waste, thereby promoting the Local Circular Economy.
A Self-Managed EVUP is equipped with various devices to record each operation in real time, whether it is for depositing material or loading it once it has been valorized: access barriers, cameras, scales, internet connection, cloud-based databases, and a management and control model. User-managed waste disposal is a key element in reducing costs and improving service, offering operating hours as flexible as necessary.

What is a Self-Managed EVUP used for?
- Agility and Proximity A Self-Managed EVUP offers agility and proximity in the disposal of waste generated by gardening and pruning activities. The station is remotely supervised, allowing customers to enter, deposit their waste, and pay independently, making the process accessible and straightforward.
- Information For each disposal, a certificate is issued and automatically sent to the user via email. Additionally, registered users have access to their operational data through a private web space: material type, weight (kg), license plates, users, billing history, and certificates.
- Environment The data collected by a Self-Managed EVUP is directly communicated to the relevant government agencies, enabling efficient management of plant-based waste in a specific territory. This ensures the efficient and comprehensive optimization of waste, valorized products, and raw materials, fostering a Local Circular Economy.
What are the objectives of a Self-Managed EVUP?

Collect
To collect green waste from municipalities for efficient and sustainable management.

Valorize
To valorize biodegradable waste (20 02 01) from parks and gardens. Through processes like composting, this waste is transformed into useful resources.

Develop
To research new lines of inquiry to establish new valorization proposals.
What services does a Self-Managed EVUP offer?

Space
It provides a space where green pruning and gardening waste can be dumped, facilitating its proper valorization.

Product
It offers the product resulting from the valorization of 20 02 01 waste, with the added value of local proximity.

Control
It performs a quantifiable control of annual municipal green waste, offering precise data.

Research
It provides data for scientific and technological research, fostering development in the valorization of green waste.

Using the Self-Managed EVUP
Gardeners, during their workday, need a space to dump the pruning and gardening waste they collect while working. They also need a space to pick up the plant materials they require to continue their tasks, such as substrate or mulching.

Phases and Periods in the Valorization of Pruning and Gardening Waste
The waste deposited in a Self-Managed EVUP is valorized following three specific phases, where each includes the concrete operations to process different materials. Each of these processes produces a useful result to continue the valorization and, ultimately, obtain the final product to offer to consumers.
